Windows 10 Sets New OS Adoption Record in August
It looks like Windows 10 may turn out to be a hit.
Windows 10 set a new record in August as its user share jumped a whopping 4.8 percentage points, ending at 5.2% for the month. That’s the biggest increase that any single OS has seen in a single month since Net Applications first started keeping record 11 years ago.
Note: User share represents the number of unique users that used the OS to go online, according to data collected by Net Applications.
Just last week, Microsoft announced that they had surpassed 75 million Windows 10 installations. That’s fairly impressive considering Windows 10 was just released on July 29th, 2015 as a free upgrade to Windows 7 and 8.1 users. Microsoft hopes that Windows 10 will be the OS of choice on 1 billion devices within the next 3 years. Things are looking positive so far.
