Windows 10 is finally here!
The latest version of Windows is chock-full of new features & enhancements like a revamped Start menu, Cortana integration, redesigned task switcher, snap assist, Action Center, Edge browser, virtual desktops, and more.
Windows 10 is completely free for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8 users that upgrade before July 29th, 2016. After that date, Windows 10 will cost $119 for the Home version and $199 for the Pro version.
Microsoft will be distributing the free Windows 10 upgrades via Windows Update in stages, with Microsoft Insiders receiving the upgrade first. You can learn more about the Windows 10 roll-out schedule here.

What version of Windows 10 will you get upon upgrade?
Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users that upgrade will receive like-to-like versions of Windows 10 when they upgrade.
For example, if you have Windows 7 Professional, you will get Windows 10 Pro.

What if you don’t have Windows 7 or 8.1 Update?
Only PCs currently running Windows 7 or 8.1 Update will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
Yes, this means that if you have Windows XP, Windows Vista, or an earlier version that you will need to purchase a Windows 10 license. Additionally, you will have to do a clean installation of Windows 10.
